A representative of David Lawrence Center presented their risk management program at the Mental Health Corporation of America (MHCA) Conference in Clearwater, Florida on February 25, 2010 and again at a workshop at the National Council Conference in Orlando, Florida on March 16, 2010. The primary purpose of the Negley Awards is to elicit information from clinicians and behavioral health centers about extraordinary and quality practices to share with other organizations with the ultimate goal of facilitating quality care improvement. The Negley Awards were established in 1990 by Negley Associates, underwriting managers for the Mental Health Risk Retention Group. The Awards recognize and reward outstanding achievements in risk management by community behavioral health centers, such as David Lawrence Center. Since the award program's inception, in excess of one-quarter million dollars have been awarded to deserving applicants.
